CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Phil Hatcher is officially the new police chief of Valley City.

Mayor Dave Carlsrud gave the oath of office to Hatcher just before a city commission meeting on February 7th.

Hatcher said once two more police officers are sworn in for duty the department will be fully staffed.

Right now the department has 12 full-time police officers including Police Chief Phil Hatcher.
