N.D. (AP) — North Dakota lawmakers will be busy this week introducing and voting on bills in their respective chambers, as the Legislature enters its second month.
On tap this week is a measure that would prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. The Republican-led Legislature has defeated similar legislation three times in the past eight years.
Other bills under consideration this week are some that have been spurred by the bitter dispute between Dakota Access protesters and law enforcement.
One proposal would increase the penalties for those involved in riots. Another would increase penalties for loitering.
