CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There are several missing pieces in a 1000 piece puzzle is how Fargo Representative Kathy Hogan described the Mental Health Services situation in North Dakota more than one year ago during a forum in Valley City.

City County Health Board President Sharon Buhr asked District 24 Legislators what is or what can be done to remedy this growing problem.

State Senator Larry Robinson said Lt. Governor Sanford and many other lawmakers like him are also concerned about the current behavior health treatment situation in the state.

Representative Dwight Kiefert said under current law it’s tough to hire addiction counselors and get those who need treatment into counseling.

Those comments were made during a District 24 Legislative forum in Valley City. The next legislative forum will be held Saturday, January 28th starting at 9am in the Enderlin City Hall. Public is encouraged to attend.
