N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown first agreed to opening a new cell at the landfill in August of 2016.

On Thursday, January 26th, Interstate Engineering gave the latest information on the cell opening.  Darrell Hornbuckle is with Interstate Engineering and he stated that the State Health Department was seeking a resolution for SRF Funds.

Councilman Dan Buchanan stated that with the recent state of the budget, it seemed unlikely there would be a way they could help pay for it. City Administrator Jeff Fuchs stated that they use previous bond payments to help pay for current projects.

The $4.8 million project will begin first with the first cell of the new expansion.
