CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Police Officer Sean Hagen is the School Resource Office for the Valley City School District.

Superintendent Josh Johnson said Hagen has already had a positive impact on our schools and the community in the short time he’s been on the job.

Johnson, Hagen and Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher talked about the role of the School Resource Officer with Steve Urness during a recent Voice of the Valley show.

Officer Hagen said he looks forward to building positive relationships with students, staff and parents. He wants everyone to feel safe in their environment and to learn that police officers are there for many other reasons.

The Valley City School Board unanimously approved of a memorandum of understanding with the city of Valley City to hire a School Resource Officer. Hagen has been on the job since January 3rd.
