(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School girls basketball team improved to 7-7 for the 2015-16 season after a 70-51 victory against Wyndmere-Lidgerwood Tuesday night.

The Tornadoes trailed for the first few minutes of the first quarter, and afterwards, never relented the lead. Oakes really pulled ahead in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Warbirds 18-11 to get the overall record back to the .500 mark.

Three players scored in double figures for Oakes; Nicole Schmitz (25 points), Sadie Hansen (14) and Shelby Roney (12). Peyton Frolek lead Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (4-9) in scoring with 17 points.
