N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Tobacco Prevention and advocacy is a high priority for the American Lung Association in North Dakota. But recently announced budget numbers may strip some of their funding to do their job.
Kristie Wolff is Manager of Tobacco Control and Advocacy. Her job is to inform the public on the dangers tobacco use and different ways that tobacco is promoted and ingested.
Wolff reports that with how the recently proposed budget looks now, virtually all funding to tobacco prevention will be cut.
States that have cut tobacco prevention have all seen the same result according to Wolff; they lose what they’ve worked towards and move backwards.
