N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals boys basketball team opened up District 5 play against the Mustangs of Midkota on Tuesday night at Carrington High School, Junior Point Guard Garrett Bickett poured in 28 points, including three 3-pointers to help the Cardinals get the victory 76-46. Carrington is now 1-0 and 9-0, Midkota drops to 0-1 and 0-7.
The Cardinals had three players in double figures, Junior Jayden Shipman had 11 points and Junior Kolton Vetter added 10. The Mustangs had a good game from Junior Mason Smith with 22 points, 11 alone in the third quarter. Senior Center Chance Wells had 10 for Midkota.
Next up for Carrington will be this Friday in Casselton for a boys and girls double header against Central Cass. Varsity boys is set to tip about 7:30pm, girls set to tip at 6pm. Both game can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com.
