N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Arts Center is excited to welcome Nicole Gagner of Bismarck as Jamestown’s newest Artist in Residence.
The Jamestown Art’s Center Artist in Residence not only teaches classes at the center, but also in the Jamestown Public School system. Art Center Executive Director Cyndi Wish says they’re very excited to have Gagner joining them this semester.
Gagner primarily works with oil on canvas, still life and regional landscape. According to the Arts Center, Gagner’s teaching philosophy is that art can and should be accessible to everyone.
“Pablo Picasso said ‘Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up’,” Gagner quoted.
Gagner believes that there is something for everyone to enjoy and learn from in the art world.
“As long as you keep your eyes and mind open. A love for art is also a gateway to a love of life-long learning,” she quotes in the Jamestown Arts newsletter.
Gagner will be working with students at Roosevelt Elementary school and will also be offering art classes for adults at the Arts Center.
