CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A 21-year-old Valley City man faces three felony charges and a DUI following a December 30th rollover that injured three people near Litchville, North Dakota.
Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said two sheriff deputies responded to the crash scene around 1:40AM along Barnes County Road 38 on December 30th.
According to a criminal complaint and affidavit from the Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office, William Weatherford has been charged with 3 counts of felony Criminal Vehicular Injury and Driving Under the Influence.
According to the Sheriff’s report, Weatherford lost control of his vehicle, entered a ditch and rolled several times, ejecting him and three other passengers. None of the occupants had seat belts on during the rollover.
According to the complaint two passengers suffered spinal injuries, broken bones and other injuries. A third passenger suffered a lacerated spleen and other injuries in the crash.
Weatherford was treated for his injuries and released. He was arrest on Monday, January 9th. His next court appearance is set for January 24th in the Barnes County Courthouse in Valley City.
A number of agencies responded to the rollover including the Litchville First Responders, Kathryn First Responders, Kathryn Fire Department and the Barnes County Ambulance.
