N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The second day of the 2017 Stutsman County Invitational Boys Basketball Tourney was held at the Jamestown Civic Center with four games, here are the results:
Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 67 Medina/Pingree/Buchanan 60
The Rebels had three players in double figures in the first game on Friday, Lane Hanson had 31, Isaac Huber had 15 points and Brant Naze with 13. MPB was led by Lawton Allen with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
South Border 47 Midkota 30
Tristan Lippert of SB poured in 22 points to help South Border win the battle of the Mustangs. Midkota was led by Mason Smith with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Ellendale 74 Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter 50
Senior Brennan Vance had 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Ellendale as the move past the Imperials in the first semifinal game to move into the Championship game on Saturday afternoon. Luke Wertz had 20 points for the Cardinals as well. Jamison Fettig led NGS with 21 points.
Carrington 59 Kidder County 39
6’3″ Senior Center Bryce Edland had 30 points and 15 rebounds to help Carrington roll past the Pirates in the last game on Friday. Kidder County was led by Gage Pfaff with 12 points.
Saturday’s schedule:
1030am – MPB vs. Midkota, 7th place
12pm – EKM vs. South Border, Consolation Championship
130pm – NGS vs. Kidder County, 3rd place
3pm – Carrington vs. Ellendale, Championship
All games on TED FM 98.3/102.7 and newsdakota.com, starting Saturday morning at 1015am pregame. The tourney was moved up earlier due to a Jimmie Men and Women Basketball double header at the Civic starting at 6pm.
