N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – District Game Warden Greg Hastings of Jamestown was recently awarded the North Dakota Game & Fish Department’s Boating Officer of the Year award.
Several employees with the state department were honored during the department’s annual staff meeting December 8th. Department Director Terry Steinwand gave awards to John Mazur, Hunter Education Coordinator in Bismarck, Bill Jensen, Big Game Biologist in Bismarck, Stephanie Tucker, Game Management Section Leader in Bismarck and Jerry Weigel, Fisheries Production and Development Section Leader in Bismarck.
Greg Hastings of Jamestown was named the North Dakota Boating Officer of the Year. Chief warden Robert Timian said Hasting’s district boasts several man-made and natural lakes that are home to many anglers and recreational boat operators.
“Warden Hastings is skilled in the detection, apprehension and prosecution of boaters who are operating while operating under the influence,” Timian said. “He is dedicated to making sure his boaters are operating in a safe manner while still enjoying the outdoors.”
