SD (PlayNorthStar.com)- Georgia Williams of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected to the eighth edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honor, announced by the conference office Monday. VCSU is currently 14-4 on the season, they resume NSAA play Saturday traveling to Jamestown for a doubleheader with The Jimmies. Pregame is at 5:15, tip off at 5:30. North Star Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week
Georgia Williams – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’10” – Senior – Guard – Townsville, Australia – Williams set career-highs for points and assists during two games in Florida last week, where Valley City State (N.D.) went 1-1 record. She had a career-high 29 points despite VCSU’s 78-75 loss to No. 10-ranked Shawnee State (Ohio). She was 10-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-4 3-pointers and 6-7 free-throws in the game. Williams followed that up with a double-double of 11 points and dished out a career-high 11 assists in an 88-43 win over Anna Maria (Fla.). For the week, she averaged 20.0 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. She was 14-of-30 from the field (46.7 percent), 4-of-13 from the 3-point line (30.8 percent) and made 8-of-11 free-throws (72.7 percent).
