A. Spitzer, 65, of Kensal, ND, died on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.

Bruce Allen Spitzer was born June 28, 1951, in Jamestown, ND, the son of Lawrence H. “Bud” and Shirley (Johnson) Spitzer. He grew up in Kensal and graduated from Kensal High School in 1969. Bruce entered the US Army on January 27, 1973 and was honorably discharged on March 30, 1979. He worked and traveled the globe from constructing grain bins in Saudi Arabia to working on a fishing trawler in Alaska. Bruce returned to Kensal and worked on construction projects and for area farmers. He had a passion for hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Bruce is survived by his siblings, Leon (Donnalene) Spitzer, Fargo, Jill (Dennis) Bredahl, Spiritwood Lake, ND, Dana Spitzer, Kensal, and Sue (Dean Miller) Audubon, MN; sister-in-law, Renee Spitzer, Jamestown; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jeff Spitzer.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kensal, ND with Rev. Robert Hill officiating.

Inurnment: Kensal Cemetery, Kensal at a later date.
