CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) With bitterly cold temperatures officials with the Department of Human Services are reminding the public that if you or someone you know needs help paying a heating bill, heating assistance is available.

Applications for Heating Assistance are being accepted now at the Barnes County Social Services office in room 102 in the Barnes County Courthouse in Valley City. For more information call the Barnes County Social Services office at 701-845-8521.

The North Dakota Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program distributes state money for Heating Assistance every year.

For those people who live in other North Dakota counties and are seeking Heating Assistance call your local Social Service office in your home county.
