N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The current deep freeze hitting the Midwest is expected to stay through this week.
The National Weather Service reports that temperatures will continue to average between 25 to 30 degrees below average. Last week, Meteorologist April Cooper reported that windchill across the state will vary with the continued cold front.
“Windchill will vary in the state, with 30 below in some areas. Jamestown’s windchill is expected to be anywhere from 20 to 25 below zero at times,” she stated.
The current deep freeze is a second arctic air blast coming from the North. The cold will affect parts of the northern and eastern U.S. late this week and the weekend, with cold temperatures expected in the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions.
The system will later move eastward.
