N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Undefeated Jamestown and undefeated Bismarck battled in West Region high school hockey on Thursday night at Wilson Arena in Jamestown and the Demons picked up a 3-0 victory.

Neither team scored in period one but Bismarck dominated period two and found the back of the net at the 5:04 mark. Despite outshooting the Jays 34-8 after 34 minutes of play, the Demons nursed a 1-0 lead after two.

Bismarck struck for a couple five on four power play goals in period three to put the game away. The Jays Junior Goalie Matthew Schneider kept his team in it as he stopped 49 of the 52 shots he faced. Bismarck Goalie Zach Kessler finished with 15 saves.

“The second period, they took over the play” said head coach Matt Stockert, “They are a very good hockey team, but we didn’t give up”

Bismarck improves to 5-0 and have outscored their opponents 49-5 this season. The Blue Jays slip to 3-1.

Next up for Jamestown is a West Region matinee vs Williston Saturday at 3:30 pm at Wilson Arena.
