CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) A number of vehicles have slid off the road and into the ditch or median along I-94 east and west of Valley City due to icy road surfaces.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said three semi’s hit the ditch in the westbound lane between the Oriska rest stop and Tower City earlier today.

McClaflin said those deputies had a close call with that semi on I-94 just west of Valley City around 10 o’clock this morning.

White out conditions are reported in the open country as wind gusts of 40 mph continue to blow snow across the road surface in the region.
