CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) Several police officers will help children who have experienced hardships this year shop for themselves and their families during the Santa, Cops & Kids night in Valley City on Wednesday, December 14th.
Event coordinator Valley City Police Sgt. Dana Rustebakke said the evening begins with a supper at Pizza Corner and shopping at Shopko in Valley City. He said a number of law enforcement vehicles will be flash their lights and sounding their sirens along Main Street after supper to go Christmas shopping with the kids.
He said volunteers will the wrap the gifts for the children that evening and later Santa will make a special stop for the kids at the Rec Center in Valley City.
Rustebakke said we also coordinate with Barnes County Social Services to provide Santa gifts to all foster children and needy families of Barnes County.
Rustebakke said the program is funded by donations from individuals and businesses in the area and used for children in who live in Barnes County. He said your donations are greatly appreciated.
