FORKS (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City’s High School Varsity bowling team won the ND State High School Championship this past Saturday in Grand Forks. The team defeated Moorhead, The West Fargo Stars and Minot to clinch the team title. The VC JV1 team finished 3rd In the Junior Varsity division.

Earlier this month senior Levi Nix won the state individual championship at North Hill Bowl in Minot. After 2 rounds of competition, Nix qualified in the #1 spot for the finals.  Nix defeated Zach Neiss of Minot in the championship.  Nix and Matt Lyter both were selected to the Eastern All Conference team.Team members are Levi Nix, Drew Oberlander, Collin Lura, Hannah Middaugh, Matt Lyter and Garrett Hanson. This team is coached by Mary Berntson
