CITY (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City had 7 football players received all conference recognition. Seniors Eli Allen, Drew Oberlander, Drew Jacobson, Nate Rodriguez, Matt Brandvold, Justin Manson and Seth Hanson were named to The All-AA Western Conference Football Team.

Allen led The Hi-Liners with 921 yards of total offense and 13 touchdowns and also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown. He was named AA Western Conference runner-up Outstanding Senior Athlete of the Year by the NDHSCA. Rodriguez was 2nd on the team with 879 yards and 8 touchdowns. Manson had a team high 268 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns.

For the defense, Jacobson was VCHS’s top tackler with 70, Hanson with 2nd with 54 and Brandvold 3rd with 48. Oberlander collected 42 tackles on the season which was 5th best on the team.

Team awards were handed out Saturday,   Drew Jacobson was Top Performing DB/LB, Eli Allen  was named Top Performing Offensive Back and Hi-Liner of the Year and Drew Oberlander was Top Performing Offensive Lineman and Top Performing Defensive Lineman. Cole McGough and Matt Brandvold were Heart Award Winners.Training Awards went to Riley Gerhardt and Garret Suhr.
