CITY (NewsDakota.com)- Trailing 16-6 The Valley City Wrestling Team won 7 matches in a row with 6 by pin to open their season with a 45-28 dual victory over Grand Forks Central. The Hi-Liners not only open their season with a win but they also get points in The EDC standings.

The Knight took the first 3 matches to lead 13-0 when Parker Larson defeated Ethan Lee with a fall in 37 seconds. After a loss at 132 pounds Valley City strung together 6 consecutive wins. Jared Undem (138), Jonathan Langer (145), David Peterson (152),  Sage Kvien (160) and Logan Erlandson (170) all win via fall while Jake Tangen won a 4-3 decision at 182. Jaden Oestern sealed the dual for Valley City with a pin at 220. Head Coach Aaron Larson says his wrestlers came up with some big wins in their season opener
