(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High volleyball team is heading back to the state tournament for the fourth time in the last five years and will play their first match today against Shanley.
The Deacons are the No. 2 seed out of the east after falling to Davies in four sets on Saturday. Jamestown has played Shanley twice at state since 2012 and split their matches. The Deacons won the fifth place match in 2012, but the Jays got their revenge in the state semifinals the next year.
Jamestown enters as the No. 3 seed out of the west. They beat Minot in straight sets to clinch a return trip to state.
Head Coach Sara Hegerle said the Jays haven’t played Shanley since way back in August, but thinks it’s a good matchup.
All of the Jamestown matches can be heard on ESPN Jamestown and NewsDakota.com.
