N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department was involved in a search for an escaped inmate Wednesday evening.

The 20 year-old Larimore man led law enforcement on a two hour search that began Wednesday evening. Bryan Satterwhite was being held at the North Dakota State Hospital when he escaped custody from a Grand Forks County deputy after 4:15 PM. The deputy called for assistance from local agencies, who say the terrain in the area made it difficult to locate Satterwhite.

A CodeRED alert was sent out to warn residents of the escapee, who was handcuffed and wearing belly chains when he escaped. Officers located him in a slough area roughly ¾ of a mile west of the State Hospital at around 6:35 PM.
