N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Students in the Jamestown Public School System cast their votes during a mock election for the U.S. President and North Dakota Governor.

The Jamestown Middle Schoolers toured the Stutsman County Courthouse on Tuesday, November 1st and learned the process of voting in the state of North Dakota. The school then held a mock election on Friday, November 4th.

461 total votes were cast in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade for the president. 54.4% of total votes were for Donald Trump, 24.9% for Hillary Clinton, and 9.3% for Other.

For Governor, 451 total votes were cast. Burgum took the majority with 69.8%. Nelson had 17.3% of votes and Riske received 6.9%.

Some of the younger students got in on the voting action as well. Lincoln, St. John’s and North Alternative schools had students cast votes as well.
