CITY, IA (NewsDakota.com) – After a five game losing streak, the University of Jamestown football has found their groove with consecutive wins over Mayville, VCSU and now Waldorf. The Jimmies went on the road to Forest City, Iowa and picked up a 20-14 win.
In the first half, Jamestown turned two Warrior turnovers into six points. Grant Linde knocked down a 30-yarder four plays into the game after Waldorf fumbled the opening kick-off. Caleb Ellingson picked off a pass later in the half and Linde hit his second field goal.
Waldorf lead 7-6 at the half. In the second thirty minutes, the Jimmie offensive line dominated the football game. Keldrick Sullivan, one week after carrying it 34 times against VCSU, toted the rock 33 times for 202 yards and two scores.
He broke free on back-to-back plays for touchdowns in the third quarter, one from 10-yards and the second was 62-yards.
The Warriors turned it over five times and Jamestown turned those into 13 points.
The Jimmies (4-6, 3-3) will wrap up their season on Saturday when they host No. 16 Dickinson State in a non-conference game. The Blue Hawks beat Mayville State 41-28 to finish the NSAA season unbeaten and are outright conference champs.
