CITY (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City’s 4th win in a row moves them into The EDC Tournament, The Hi-Liners beat Wahpeton 3-1 (25-7, 25-15, 24-26, 25-21) Friday in a play in match at The HAC. 

Strong serving helped Valley City to a commanding 25-7 win in set 1 and a 25-15 victory in the 2nd set. The 3rd remained closed from start to finish with 7 ties and neither team leading by more than 4. The Huskies broke the 24-24 tie scoring 2 points to extend the match. Wahpeton and Valley City battled early in the final game before going up 21-17 and closing the match on scoring run to win 25-21.

Macy Olstad paced the offense with 11 kills, Mackenzie Pederson, Josie Berntson and Cali Halgrimson collected 5 each. Two Hi-Liners had double figure digs, Kacee White posted 26 and Cali Halgrimson 13. Reagan Ingstad produced 28 assist and 8 aces.

Tuesday VCHS will face #2 Shanley in Fargo, that match will be on Q101. Wahpeton finishes their season 6-24. In other play in matches Fargo North defeated GF Central 3-0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-15) and Devils Lake topped Fargo South 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-21, 25-20)
