(JimmieAthletics.com) – The Jimmie volleyball team opened the final regular-season homestand with a sweep of the Presentation (S.D.) College Saints Wednesday. Set scores were 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.
Six Jimmies recorded 4 or more kills in the match, led by Siri Jystad (SR/Jamestown, N.D.), Haley Glasoe (JR/Wildrose, N.D.), and Heather Bachman (SR/Bloomington, Minn.), who pounded home 8 kills each. Madison Wendel (JR/Carrington, N.D.) and Morgan Hensch (JR/Fergus Falls, Minn.) added 5 a piece, and Kaitlin Anderson (SR/Grand Forks, N.D.) ended with 4.
Glasoe finished with a .667 hitting percentage in 12 attempts and did not make an error. Jystad made one error in 15 attempts to hit .467 for UJ (21-11 overall, 11-3 North Star Athletic Association), who finished at .279 for the match.
Aubrey Beaumont (SR/Great Falls, Mont.) and Josie Hegerle (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) finished with 18 and 17 assists, respectively. Elise Peterson (SR/Kasson, Minn.) had 3 service aces to go along with her 14 digs.
Nicole Warren (SR/Oakes, N.D.)’s 23 digs led all players. Wendel had a strong game at the net defensively with 4 total blocks, including three block assists. Anderson also had three block assists.
Haylee Biel led the Saints (4-26, 1-13 NSAA) with 7 kills. Katie Nelson added six kills and her .357 hitting percentage was a team best. Abigail Wahl passed out 18 assists for Presentation, who hit .155 overall.
Mallori Rabenberg posted 14 digs and Jordyn Dekker had two solo blocks.
Jamestown hosts Mayville State Friday while Presentation travels to Waldorf.
