N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Cooperstown man was injured after he was struck by a pickup as he was riding his bicycle some 2 miles south of Cooperstown on Wednesday.
67 year-old Leslie Ronningen was riding his bike northbound on Griggs County Road 19 on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of a pickup also northbound attempted to brake but struck the bicyclist from behind, causing him to vault into the east ditch.
The Ronningen was transported to the Cooperstown Medical Center and later flown to Essentia Hospital in Fargo. His condition has not been released.
The Highway Patrol says the driver of the pickup 52 year-old Rick Rahlf of Cooperstown is facing charges from the crash which remains under investigation.
