N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fargo Senator Tim Mathern is running for State Treasurer and says he will work towards closing the office if voted in.

Several candidates from the Dem-NPL party were in Jamestown hosting a press conference on Wednesday, November 2nd to discuss their campaign and views on certain issues. Senator Mathern shared his views on the office of the North Dakota Treasurer and shared reasons why he thinks it should be closed.

Mathern says a lack of interest in several open and elected positions is the reason he believes the State Treasurer office should be shutdown.

He says change is necessary to become a much more efficient government. Senator Mathern also made the suggestion earlier in October that the State Hospital should be closed.
