(NewsDakota.com) – The win won’t count on their record, but it was certainly a satisfying victory for the University of Jamestown women as they took down NCAA Division II UMary 80-53.

Taylor Hammer lead the way with 15 points, including 8 in the first quarter to set the pace. Jimmies lead for double digits throughout the game and took a 17-point into halftime. In the final seconds of the half, Paige Emmel launched a 30-footer and was fouled. She made all three free throws to send it half.

The Marauders trimmed it to 12 in the second half, but that was as close as they would get. Jamestown poured it on in the final 15 minutes.

Kyra Dewald added 12. UMary got 11 from Hannah Larson and 10 from Gabbie Bohl.

The Jimmies (1-1) will head to Iowa to play Northwestern and Dordt on Friday and Saturday. Friday will be a men’s and women’s double-header and will be aired on ESPN Jamestown starting at 5:45pm.
