N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Kiwanis Club held their 6th annual Kids Against Hunger Packaging event on Saturday, October 29th and reached a major milestone.

Katie Ryan-Andersen reports that over 400 volunteers helped package more than 178,000 meals. This allowed them to exceed their 1 millionth meal goal. Co-chair of the event Janna Bergstedt reports that all meals will stay in the region.

The group states that they did not reach their goal of $44,000 this year, but will continue to hold the event. Ryan-Andersen pointed out that Janna Bergstedt has lead this event for the past five years.

“She has led the charge for us for five years now. We couldn’t do it without her.”
