(NewsDakota.com) The number one and two seeds will meet Monday night for the Class B District 5 Championship, while four other teams attempt to earn the remaining two tickets to the Class B Region III Tournament after the matches from Friday night.

Loser-Out: #5 Midkota def. #8 Litchville/Marion-Montpeiler 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-11)

The fifth seeded Mustangs advanced to a regional qualifying contest thanks to Mikayla Donohue’s team high 10 kills. Victoria Vollmer and McKenna Frappier each had three aces.

LLM had no aces in the contest. Cheyenne Elsner had a team high 5 kills.

Loser-Out: #7 Barnes County North def. #6 Ellendale  3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-21)

The Bison’s Hannah Wilson had four aces, 15 kills and 15 digs and Jayda Haugen contributed three aces, two kills, 21 assists and 11 digs to help BCN pull off the sweep.

Ellendale’s Jaylin Fisher registered three aces and kills in the defeat.

Semifinal: #1 Carrington def. #4 Edgeley-Kulm 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-16)

Maara Nelson had another impressive outing for the number one seed; with two aces, 14 kills, 42 blocks and 20 digs.

As a team, Edgeley-Kulm had 14 kills, 12 of those coming from Katie Entzi.

Semifinal: #2 Lamoure def. #3 Oakes 3-1 (25-11, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17)

The defending State Champions had 38 kills and 37 digs from Anna Holen to propel the Loboes to victory.

Oakes had nine kills each from Shelby Roney and Nicole Schmitz.

The final day of the tournament is Monday. Oakes and Midkota meet at 4 p.m., followed 25 minutes later with Edgeley-Kulm and Barnes County North. Both matches are Class B Region III qualification contests. LaMoure and Carrington have already punched tickets to the Region III tournament, and will play for the District 5 Championship at 7 p.m.
