N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown Student Senate has gathered students to trick-or-treat early this Sunday. But instead of candy, they’ll be looking for non-perishable food donations.

The University’s Trick-or-Can event will be held this Sunday, October 30th from 7 to 9 PM. Student teams will go door to door and trick-or-treat for food donations. Student Senate member Caleb Bennett says they’ve been doing the event since around 2006.

The group collected around 3,192 cans of food last year. Over 120 students will travel to different areas of Jamestown to collect donations. Caleb pointed out that residents who won’t be home, but still want to donate can still help.

All donated food will benefit the Community Action Region VI food pantry.
