CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City band and choir students are selling fruit. Last year this heart-healthy fundraiser helped juniors and seniors pay their way to NYC for the Heritage Festival. While there both the band and choir earned Gold ratings for their performances!
The VCHS Music Booster parents are helping coordinate this fundraiser. Funds raised are designated as “individual” earnings that help each student meet the financial obligations that the trip requires.
Last year 600 boxes were sold, and this year they hope to double that, “Medical literature tells us that Americans are not eating enough fruits and vegetables each day. This fundraiser gives students the opportunity to raise funds while also increasing the availability of fruits to our community members, so it’s a win-win situation,” says parent Amy Noeske who’s co-chairing the effort with Sue Lloyd and Brenda White.
You’ll find apples, oranges, grapefruit, pears, pineapple and clementines in a variety of mixed boxes or alone. New this year is an apple sampler with 5 different varieties in one box.
The fruit will arrive in early to mid-December, ideal for a Christmas or holiday gift for just about anyone on your list.
Contact your favorite VCHS band or choir student to order your fruit today. If you don’t know a student, please call the high school office at 845-0483, extension 2, and the receptionist will take down your contact information. A Music Booster parent will call you back so you can order your holiday fruit.
