N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The November 8th Election Day is fast approaching and everyone has a right to vote.

That includes those with disabilities.

The Freedom Resource Center will be holding a class called “Voting: It’s Your Right” for individuals who experience disabilities in their lives. Independent Living Advocate Beth Dewald stated that all polling locations everywhere must be accommodating to everyone.

Dewald pointed out that polling places must have those who can assist residents with ballots, whether it’s reading them out loud or being able to access poll sites. Dewald stated that County Auditor Casey Bradley and Stutsman County does a good job with this.

Dewald stated that the Freedom Resource Center was holding their class, that would be available to everyone, on October 27th and November 3rd. Voters will review the current ballot, learn what each measure means, the adaptations available to people with disabilities and other information.

A representative with the Stutsman County Auditor’s Office will be on hand to answer questions. You need to register by calling Beth Dewald at 701-252-4693.
