N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Medical Center has something to celebrate this week.
Marketing Manager Katie Ryan-Anderson reports that the JRMC has been recognized as an “Outstanding Performer in Patient Safety” by the Vizient Hospital Engagement Network.
“Nearly 250 hospitals nationwide make up Vizient’s Hospital Engagement Network,” Ryan-Anderson states in a release. “JRMC received the award because it achieved the highest level of performance with regard to preventable inpatient harm. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services created the Partnership for Patients (PfP) program to reduce patient harm and hospital readmissions. A low readmission rate equals a higher quality of care.”
Quality Manager Jenna Bredahl pointed out that several JRMC departments deserve credit for the achievement including utilization management, social services, pharmacy, home health, nursing staff and physicians.
“We all want the same goal: to keep patients healthy and out of the hospital,” she said.
Vizient is the largest member-owned health care services company. They work with hospitals around the nation to provide better patient care.
