(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown boys soccer team is going to the state tournament for the first time since 2008 and will be the West’s No. 2-seed. The Jays lost a 2-0 decision to Century on Saturday in the WDA Championship.

The postseason awards ceremony following the title match was dominated by the Blue Jays as Mark Shery was named the region coach of the year and Braden Sherfy was named the player of the year.

Jamestown will play on Thursday against Fargo South (8-4-3) at 2:15pm in the state quarterfinals. The Bruins won a 3-0 decision over Jamestown back in August.
