(NewsDakota.com) – A quick start for the University of Jamestown football team did not hold up Saturday at Rollie Greeno Field. Presentation College won for the first time in four meetings with the Jimmies, picking up a 34-25 victory.
Jamestown jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead after Lester Williams blew up a play on the goal line for a safety and then on the ensuing possession Keldrick Sullivan scored his ninth rushing touchdown of the year. After that, it began to unravel for the Jimmies.
Presentation scored 21 consecutive points. All three touchdowns were caught by PC’s Logan Weisser, who ended the half with 117 yards to go along with those scores. The Saints lead 21-9 at the half.
They eventually pushed the lead to 34-16 in the fourth quarter. Jamestown got on the board again with a 15-yard run by Dylan Klatt in the third.
The Jimmies turned it over eight times including twice on the goal line. The second one came following a Branden Edwards touchdown catch, that trimmed the lead to 34-23, and a successful pooch kick that was recovered by Jamestown. With the Jimmies going into score to trim the lead even further with five minutes left and Sullivan fumbled on his way into the end zone.
The Saints took a safety and then successfully stop the Jimmies to hold onto the nine-point win.
Jamestown (1-5, 0-2) will play at Dickinson State on Saturday at 2pm CST.
