N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Fire Crews were called to a basement fire Wednesday afternoon at around 3:30 PM.
The call came from 611 4th Street Northwest after a reported fire in the basement of the home. Lt. Sheldon Mohr reports that a smoke detector woke up the lone occupant, who was able to escape the home safely.
Initial reports say the home is extensively damaged with fire damage in the basement and smoke damage throughout the home. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents displaced by the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
