N.D. (NewsDakota.com)——The Carrington girls volleyball team defeated Kidder County 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-10, 25-16), improving to 21-0 on the season. Kidder County defeated the Cards in set 2, only the third set Carrington has lost this season. The Cards racked up 22 service aces in the win and finished the night 91 of 97 serving, good for 94 percent. Carmen Pederson led the way with a match high 8 aces and teammate Maara Nelson added 6 aces and a match high 14 kills. Pederson finished with 7 kills. Emerson Hoornaert added 10 kills and 3 aces. Kidder County was led by Morgan Ziesch with 8 kills, Sydney Olson and Grace Benz added 6 kills for the Pirates. Ziesch also had 5 aces on the night but Kidder County struggled from the service line overall, making 58 of 68 serves for 85 percent.
Carrington will play Saturday in the Carrington tourney starting at 8:00 A.M. against Harvey-Wells County. The match will be aired on AM 1600 KDAK and www.newsdakota.com Kidder County dropped to 11-13 overall on the season.
