N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 71 year-old Fargo woman is dead following a head-on collision on Highway 2 at Petersburg Sunday.

The state Highway Patrol reports that 45 year-old Malik Yahaya was traveling west on Highway 2 when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. His vehicle left the roadway and vaulted the median crossover, entering the westbound lane. He then collided with the Fargo female.

Yahaya was transported to Altru Hospital with injuries. The woman of the other vehicle was deceased on scene and her name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The crash remains under investigation.
