N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In August, Civic Center Manager Pam Fosse came before the Jamestown City Council to announce that she’d like to cancel their contract with Rough Rider Association Inc.

According to Fosse, the Civic Center and city of Jamestown lost a total of $17,000 hosting the event in 2015. Fosse made the recommendation to terminate their contract following this year’s Rodeo Finals in Jamestown. The council made a recommendation to serve notice of termination at that meeting.

Today, the council rescinded that motion.

The City Council met during a special meeting on Friday to discuss the contract. Chair of the Civic Center Committee Pam Phillips stated that they were giving the Rough Rider Association one more chance.

Councilman Ramone Gumke assisted in some of the talks with the Rough Rider Association on the annual event.

Councilwoman Phillips stated that if the event generated another fiscal loss for the Civic and City, they would give the Rough Rider Association ample time to find another venue.

The council unanimously approved to rescind the termination letter. Read the original story here.
