Coaches Comments:

We had the line-up we wanted against their line-up and we came up short as a team.

Hunter and Jack were huge underdogs in their matches and both played very well in their losses.

Riley likes to go three sets and he did so again in this match.  When he plays confident, he hits solid balls and puts them away.  That confidence was lost for a while in the 2nd set and also a stretch in the third set, but Riley pulled himself up, believed, and put the match away.

Liam and Trevor were thrown together today at #2 doubles with the illness of another player.  These two have not played much together at all, but figured out how to play together in short order and dominated their match while only dropping two games.

At number one doubles, we had the craziest match of the season.  Every set went to a tiebreaker.  The match lasted three hours.  We fought off 5 match points in the second set.  We were up…we were down.  We played two back.  The entire team was cheering them on throughout the last half of the 2nd set and the entire third set.  In the end, West Fargo won that match which then clinched the match.  Congratulations to West Fargo on the victory and good luck to them at Regionals on Thursday.

As we lost the play-in match, our team season is done.  We have a very young team and will have everyone back next year.  We still do have individual regionals on Friday and Saturday in Grand Forks.  We will have three singles players and 2 doubles teams vying to make the top 8 in the region which will qualify them for the state tournament.
