N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council and Jamestown Tourism entered discussion on the renewal of the agreement and public site lease earlier this year and moved closer to a decision Tuesday.

Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund came before the council during a special meeting to request returning to the original way tax revenues were received by the tourism department.

Swedlund pointed out that that was the same model in place before he moved to Jamestown and felt it was the best way for them to fully serve Jamestown.

Searle says the formula projects that they would receive roughly $359,000 in hospitality funds in 2017. No decision was made on the switch back, but it was moved to the city council meeting on October 3rd.
