(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay football showed some flashes in their matchup with Dickinson on Friday, but couldn’t put the ball in the end zone. The Midgets won their fourth game of the year behind an 18-0 decision.
On the opening drive, Treven Hopfauf mashed the Blue Jay defense down the field to score the first of his three touchdowns. He finished with 170 yards rushing.
Jamestown turned it over four times, all on interceptions by sophomore QB Mason Walters. Walters has taken over the starting spot from Brian Opsahl who has a shoulder injury and moved over to wide receiver.
The Blue Jays moved the ball well at times, but were not able to sustain drives into the end zone. They are now 1-4 on the year and will head to the MDU Resources Community Bowl to play Bismarck High.
