CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) VCSU student David Gazeley of Valley City was recently named the recipient of the 2016 Veterans Make Great STEM Teachers Award by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA).

The scholarship award is presented to a U.S. Armed Forces veteran pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree as a technology and engineering teacher with a GPA over 3.0.

A Navy veteran and technology education major at VCSU, Gazeley is the first recipient of the award. CNC Software, creator of Mastercam, is the inaugural scholarship sponsor.

In addition to receiving a monetary award, Gazeley also received complimentary registration for the ITEEA annual conference to be held in Dallas, Texas, in March 2017, where his scholarship award will be formally recognized.
