City State senior Jaycee George has been named the North Star Athletic Association Defender of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

NSAA Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week
Jaycee George – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’4″, Senior, libero – Innisfail, Alberta Canada – George averaged 6.4 digs per set (115 total digs) as Valley City State (N.D.) went 4-1 for the week, including a conference win over Dakota State. She posted a season-high 38 digs in a five-set match versus Indiana-South Bend.  She passed at a .960 clip (101 receptions, 4 errors) and served at .945 from the serving line (73 serve attempts, 4 service aces and 4 errors).  George also recorded 17 set assists for the week.

Natalie Geidel of Viterbo (Wis.) was selected as Offensive Player-of-the-Week for the second straight week, while her teammate Amelia Grahn was chosen as Setter-of-the-Week. VCSU will host a pair of North Star matches this week with Bellevue Friday and Presentation on Saturday.
