N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Finance & Legal Committee discussed the current ordinance regarding dispensing of alcoholic beverages in Jamestown Tuesday.

Councilwoman Pam Phillips reported that the City Attorney brought up the current Jamestown city ordinance regarding alcoholic dispensing on certain days in Jamestown.

A first reading of an ordinance to amend the current regulations was held Tuesday afternoon. The state law allows serving to begin at 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM. Off-sale sites continue at 12 PM to 2:00 AM, in line with state law.

Phillips also pointed out that the state law would cover infractions as well.

A second reading will be held at the next committee meeting in October.
