CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Youth Frontiers conducted a “Courage Retreat” on September 14th with 8th grade students. The “Courage Retreat” put on by Youth Frontiers worked with students in the areas of respect, positive decision making, bullying, and how to handle peer pressure, moral courage, acting with courage and doing what is right.

The Youth Frontiers “Kindness Retreat” is an event that focused on building a learning environment where students will thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. The retreat was a one-day event that focused on kindness for the 5th grade classes at Washington Elementary on September 15th.
The following 3 objectives were covered with students throughout the day:
1) Understand why and how to make kind choices, 2) Enhance empathy skills to understand how words and actions affect others, and 3) Acquire conflict-resolution skills to safely respond to situations of bullying.
The day was filled with activities, a presentation, small groups, and sharing of how to show kindness in the student’s school community. The event was held on September 15 at the Hi Liner Activity Center.
